In a sector where quality is everything, Crown Highways is proud to announce that the company has been awarded Gold HERS Logo status for meeting the strict criteria required by this prestigious award.
Receiving Gold status shows Crown Highways’ commitment and dedication to the industry standards set by the HEA, to its workforce and to its customers in ensuring the safety of highway electrical assets.
This recognition demonstrates that Crown continues to be an industry leader; only 13 companies nationally have achieved HERS Gold status, making this a huge accolade for Crown Highways and placing the business amongst some esteemed companies.
HERS
Highways Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS) is the highways electrical industry compliance auditor and assessor providing assurance of adherence to the strict standards of ISO 9001 & National Highway Sector Scheme 8 (NHSS8).
To achieve Gold status, there are a range of conditions which must be met – including having at least 80% of its registrable employees registered to the HERS, and in possession of standard HERS cards.
The Route to Gold
Crown’s own internal training academy has played a huge role in achieving its Gold status. As a HESA, City & Guilds and Lantra approved centre, Crown has the in-house capability to deliver mandatory HERS Training internally, a facility that has propelled the business into the top 3% of members.

Mike Dale, Managing Director commented on the latest on a long list of Crown Highways accreditations, telling us:
“Receiving Gold HERS status is a great achievement, and we’re extremely grateful to Rob Peters, our Training Academy Manager and his team for driving us to this standard.
“To gain over 80% compliance on the new HERS system is a great standard to set. Our challenge moving forward now is twofold; Firstly, to maintain this standard and ensure it doesn’t drop. And secondly, to continue to challenge ourselves to get even better and always look to raise our bar.”
