On Wednesday 20th July Crown Highways and R&C Williams also supported by HTM Traffic Management competed in the inaugural Midlands Highways Ryder Cup golf challenge.
On a beautiful day at the Welcombe course in Warwickshire both companies entered a team of 12 players taking part in a Ryder Cup style 27 hole competition.
Crown took an early lead in the morning session winning the fourball competition 5 matches to 1, however R&C started much the brighter in the afternoon taking a 9 – 6 lead following the foursomes and the first few matches of the singles competitions.
Crown ran out the eventual winners with a very narrow win of 12 ½ points to 11 ½ points.
The two companies have recently been awarded their BS11000 accreditation (collaborative working relationships) and this event was testimony to the award and the many collaborative behaviours amongst the company’s staff.
