Crown Highways is a company that has always been known to ‘try’ and assist its local area.
Part of that connection has often included stepping in to help local sports clubs and sportspeople as the business looks to truly support its community and its people.
Never one to take a pass, Crown Highways has further cemented its place as a community pillar by supporting Burntwood Rugby Club with the installation of replacement goalposts on several of their rugby pitches.
Crown stepped in to tackle the problem after Burntwood RFC reached out to Crown to do the job. A quick team talk at HQ resulted in the decision to do the job for the club at no cost.
With the help of Breedon Group, who kindly provided the concrete for the job free of charge, Crown Highways has replaced 4 sets of goalposts for the club, who now move into 2021/22 with upgraded facilities.
The work was carried out by a mix of Crown Highways civils operatives and members of its lighting team. Civils installed the new sockets and cemented them in, and the lighting team installed the posts using Crown’s brand-new mobile elevating work platform (MEWP).
Burntwood Rugby Club offers 14 different teams, ranging from Under 8’s to several men’s teams, as well a veteran’s team, providing lots of opportunities to those who wish to play rugby locally.
Managing Director of Crown Highways, Mike Dale commented saying;
“At Crown Highways we are so passionate about having a positive impact on the local community and helping others out where we can.
“With Burntwood RFC being a club providing so many sporting opportunities to people of all ages, we are glad to be able to assist in the installation of this brand-new equipment.
“The last 18 months has prevented a lot of people doing the thing that they’re passionate about including many activities and hobbies that are used as an outlet, so we’re delighted to have Burntwood players returning to their home ground with upgraded facilities and we’re very happy to have been a part of making that possible.”
