National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework (SDF)

In 2021 Crown Highways successfully tendered the National Highways SDF framework contract, we were awarded eight separate lots across the UK.

Electrical & Street Lighting: Areas – 7, 9, NW & 12

Technology: Areas – East, 7, 13 & 14

National Highways LED Lighting Upgrade

Crown Highways are delivering LED lighting upgrades across its SDF regions, we started the
National Highways project in Area 10 and in collaboration with J McCanns installed 5000 units in 2023/24. The programme now continues in the Midlands Area 7 & 9 regions.

National Highways Technology Refresh Project

Our Technology teams have been working with National Highways to replace time expired technology equipment across our SDF regions, this project is called the ‘Technology Refresh Project’ and replaces – CCTV Cameras, Message Signs, Detection (Radar) equipment, signals & MIDAS.

Birmingham PFI Contract

We work with Kier on the Birmingham PFI Contract providing Electrical & Street Lighting Services across the region.

Colas - Lincolnshire

In Lincolnshire we work with Colas to install traffic signals civil infrastructure to a high standard. We have installed traffic signal sites across the Lincolnshire region.

Tarmac - Walsall

Crown Highways have been working with Tarmac and Walsall Council for four years, we have delivered a number of schemes across the region including the award winning Greenway Cycle path scheme above. (CECA Midlands Project of the Year 2024 – Under £3m)

Swarco - Derbyshire

In corporation with Swarco in Derbyshire we have installed the civils infrastructure for a number of traffic signal sites, we have installed signalised junctions and pedestrian crossings in mainly rural areas. In the Derbyshire region we provide a customer liaison and traffic management solution for the client.

Crown Highways are on the door step of the M6 Toll road and as such are support the contract To date we have undertaken a number of projects including small civils works and more importantly for Crown Highways or first Radar technology schemes.

Crown Highways started working on the M25 for Connect Plus Services on 19th June 2017 and are responsible for the Maintenance of all the detection systems on the network, this includes all inductive loops and radar systems.
