Crown Highways has once again brought together colleagues, clients, supply chain partners and friends from across the highways industry for its annual charity football tournament, and the third edition has proved to be the most successful yet.
Held on 6 July, the tournament raised more than £2,030 including Gift Aid for Charlotte’s Kids Village, Crown Highways’ chosen charity for 2026. The total represents the largest amount raised through the tournament to date, underlining how the event continues to grow year after year.
The tournament has become a firm fixture in Crown’s charitable calendar, combining friendly competition and community spirit with the opportunity to raise money for causes that make a genuine difference. Following the inaugural event in support of Dementia UK, and last year’s tournament which raised £1,700 for Katharine House Hospice, this year marked another significant step forward for the initiative.
There was plenty of competition on the pitch throughout the day, with all teams hotly contesting the tournament trophy. Ultimately it was Kier who emerged victorious, successfully retaining the title after also taking the honours at the 2025 tournament.
Away from the football, the real winner was Charlotte’s Kids Village, with the generosity of everyone involved helping to generate more than £2,030 for a charity that is particularly close to Crown Highways’ heart.
Crown’s connection with Charlotte’s Kids Village extends well beyond fundraising. The company has played a direct role in the development of the site, having already completed the ‘Crown Highway’ access road and moved on to the next phase of infrastructure works.
Charlotte’s Kids Village will provide a place of respite and precious family time for children with critical illnesses and their families. Crown Highways is proud to support the charity both through its work on site and through a growing programme of fundraising and community initiatives.
The football tournament is just one of Crown’s fundraising efforts for Charlotte’s Kids Village in 2026. As the company heads into the autumn, a dedicated charity golf day hosted by Chairman Steve Jones is also planned.
Together the events form part of an ambitious programme designed to raise as much support as possible for the charity while bringing Crown’s wider network of colleagues, clients and industry partners together behind a cause that has become deeply meaningful to the business.
