News / Celebrating Chloe Mathews: Winner of Apprentice of the Year at the Highways Electrical Awards

Crown Highways is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Chloe Mathews, who has been named Apprentice of the Year at the Highways Electrical Association (HEA) Awards.

This prestigious accolade marks a major milestone not only for Chloe, but for the company as a whole, as she becomes Crown Highways’ first ever HEA award winner.

Chloe’s journey with Crown Highways began in June 2023 when she joined the Astley office in an administrative role. From the outset, she demonstrated exceptional drive, professionalism, and a clear ambition to progress. Recognising her potential, Crown supported her development pathway, with Senior Operations Manager Mark Robinson and Rob Peters and his Training Academy team playing key roles in guiding her through her apprenticeship journey.

Recently, Chloe achieved another milestone by completing her APM Project Management apprenticeship, passing with distinction. Her dedication to developing real project management capability – from planning and stakeholder engagement to risk management and delivery – has been evident throughout her time with the business.

HEA Success

Chloe’s win at the HEA Awards is a testament to her hard work, growth, and the positive impact she has made within the company. Chloe’s commitment and attitude have earned admiration across the business, and her success is an inspiration to current and future apprentices.

Chloe reflected on her award and recent achievements:

“I’m really proud to have been awarded the HEA-HEMSA apprentice/trainee of the year award. It means a lot to be recognised for the effort I’ve put in throughout my apprenticeship and for the work I’ve delivered along the way.

“I’ve also just completed my APM project management apprenticeship with a distinction, which I’m incredibly happy with. The apprenticeship has helped me build strong project management skills, from planning and stakeholder engagement to managing risks and delivering projects in a real working environment.

“Both of these achievements feel like a huge milestone for me and reflect how much I’ve grown professionally. I’m really motivated to keep learning, developing, and pushing myself in the next stage of my career.”

Managing Director Mike Dale expressed his pride in Chloe’s achievements and the significance of the moment for Crown Highways:

“We are immensely proud of Chloe and everything she has achieved in such a short space of time. Her drive, professionalism, and willingness to learn make her a real asset to Crown Highways.

“To see her become our first ever HEA award winner is a fantastic milestone for both Chloe and the business. Her success demonstrates exactly what can be achieved when talent, hard work, and the right support come together. We couldn’t be more delighted for her.”
