Crown Chairman Steve Jones and MD Mike Dale recently visited the site alongside members of Crown’s operations team, Byron Mothershaw and Simon Yale, where they met Chairman Doug Wright MBE DL to discuss progress and plans for Phase Two of the project.
The latest stage of works will see Crown Highways deliver a new access road designed to help families arrive safely and comfortably at the site. The route will also provide improved access for future deliveries and operational requirements as Charlotte’s Kids Village moves closer to welcoming its first guests.
The project represents the continuation of Crown Highways’ involvement with the charity, having previously completed the now well-known ‘Crown Highway’, a key piece of infrastructure that helped establish vital connectivity throughout the development.
The completion of that initial phase marked a significant milestone in the creation of what will become the UK’s first purpose-built holiday village for children with critical illnesses and their families.
As work begins on Phase Two, Crown’s team has carefully adapted its construction approach to ensure the historic landscape beneath the site is protected. By working sensitively and responsibly, the company is helping to preserve the character and heritage of the area while delivering the infrastructure needed to support the project’s future.
For Crown Highways, the project embodies the company’s commitment to supporting meaningful charitable initiatives and creating lasting social value within the communities it serves.
Managing Director Mike Dale said the continued partnership with Charlotte’s Kids Village remains one of the company’s most rewarding projects:
“From the very beginning, this has been about much more than constructing roads. Every member of the team understands the incredible impact Charlotte’s Kids Village will have on children and families facing some of life’s toughest challenges. To be able to play a role in helping bring that vision to life is something we’re all immensely proud of.”
As development continues, Crown Highways looks forward to supporting the next chapter of the Kids Village journey and helping create a place where families can enjoy precious time together, away from the pressures of treatment and hospital visits.
With Phase Two now underway, Crown remains committed to helping pave the way for a project that will make a lasting difference to families across the UK for generations to come.
