News / Crown Highways Raises £1,700 for Katharine House Hospice at Second Annual Charity Football Tournament
This year’s tournament saw teams from across the industry come together, including Kier Group, R&C Williams, Highway Traffic Management, Techcare, and three teams representing Crown Highways. After a series of exciting matches and plenty of great football on display, Kier Group were crowned champions for 2025, with the Crown Highways Office Team finishing as runners-up in a closely fought final.
The day’s success wasn’t just measured in goals scored, but in generosity. Through entry fees, donations, and a raffle, the event raised £1,600, with an additional £100 in Gift Aid, taking the total to £1,700 for Katharine House Hospice. The funds will go directly toward supporting the hospice’s vital work providing compassionate care and support to individuals and families affected by life-limiting illnesses.
Crown Highways Managing Director Mike Dale and Operations Manager Byron Mothershaw had the pleasure of visiting Katharine House Hospice shortly after the event to present the charity cheque in person.
“Supporting local charities is something we truly value at Crown Highways,” said Mike Dale. “Katharine House Hospice holds a special place in our hearts, and it was a privilege to see first-hand the incredible work their team does. We’re proud to play our part in helping them continue to make such a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”
Crown also extended its thanks to Chasetown Football Club for being such excellent hosts once again, ensuring the day ran smoothly and everyone enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere.
The tournament has now become a firm fixture in Crown Highways’ annual calendar – building on the success of last year’s inaugural event for Dementia UK. As the company looks ahead to future tournaments, the focus remains on bringing people together for causes that matter most.
From all at Crown Highways: a heartfelt thank you to everyone who played, donated, and supported this year’s event. Together, the teams not only created a brilliant day of football – but also made a lasting impact for an extraordinary charity.
