From award-winning projects to meaningful charitable initiatives, Crown Highways has continued to demonstrate its commitment to excellence both on and off the road network.
Award-Winning Excellence
This year, Crown Highways celebrated multiple prestigious awards, showcasing its expertise and collaborative ethos.
The company won Project of the Year at the CECA Midlands Awards and the Active Travel Scheme of the Year at the Highways Awards for The Greenway Project, delivered in partnership with Tarmac and Walsall Council. These accolades highlighted Crown’s ability to deliver transformative infrastructure projects that serve the community.
At the ECA Awards, Crown earned the titles of Best Supply Chain Partnership and Contractor of the Year (up to £45m turnover). The judges praised Crown’s commitment to staff wellbeing, apprenticeship programmes, and its investment in collaborative innovations, such as the bespoke pedestrian exclusion zone developed with Suction Excavation UK.
Earlier in the year, Crown was also recognised at the Institute for Collaborative Working SME Award, demonstrating its leadership in fostering social value through partnerships.
Strengthening Safety Standards
Safety remained at the forefront of Crown Highways’ operations in 2024, with the company securing its sixth consecutive RoSPA Gold Award and a second Gold Medal.
These accolades reaffirmed Crown’s steadfast commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards across all its projects.
Regional Growth and Community Engagement
A significant milestone in 2024 was the opening of Crown Highways’ new Astley Depot, marking its expansion in the Northwest. This new base has enabled Crown to increase its capacity, create apprenticeships, and strengthen its ties to local communities.
The Astley team also embraced community support, collaborating with the Salvation Army to donate gifts for teenagers – an often-overlooked group during festive charity campaigns.
